The Victron MultiPlus 48/1600/20-16 230V VE.Bus is the upgraded version of the MultiPlus Compact range, offering a true sine wave inverter, a sophisticated adaptive battery charger, and a high-speed AC transfer switch all within a single, compact enclosure.
With PowerAssist technology, this model enhances the capacity of shore or generator power by seamlessly supplementing it with battery power during peak demand periods. When the load decreases, the excess power is automatically used to recharge the battery, ensuring efficient energy utilization.
In the event of grid failure or disconnection from shore power or a generator, the integrated UPS function quickly activates, providing uninterrupted power to connected devices in less than 20 milliseconds, ensuring no disruptions to sensitive electronics.
The MultiPlus 48/1600 also supports parallel operation for higher power output and three-phase configurations, making it a flexible solution for expanding power requirements. Uninterrupted AC power (UPS function)
In the event of a grid failure, or when shore or generator power is disconnected, the inverter within the Multi is automatically activated and takes over the supply to the connected loads. This happens so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without disruption.
Remote Monitoring and Control
When coupled with a GX device (e.g. Cerbo GX) you can monitor and control your Multi and system or systems’ locally (LAN) or remotely via the internet from anywhere in the world, using the free VRM app and free VRM portal website. Parallel Operation and Three Phase Capability

PowerAssist – Boosting the Capacity of Shore or Generator Power
This feature takes the principle of PowerControl to a further dimension. It allows the MultiPlus to supplement the capacity of the alternative source. Where peak power is so often required only for a limited period, the MultiPlus will make sure that insufficient shore or generator power is immediately compensated for by power from the battery. When the load reduces, the spare power is used to recharge the battery.
