We love DIY builders, that’s why we made this Complete Self-Build Package
Bringing expert system design, a bespoke wiring diagram, correctly specced components, system commissioning and our gold standard support throughout and after the build; together in one service. Designed for customers building their own campervan, motorhome, cabin, or tiny home electrical system.
Every system starts with a proper power audit before a single component is chosen, removing the guesswork, reducing costly mistakes, and ensuring your system is safely and correctly sized for how you’ll actually use it, whether this is your first build or your fifth.
Once you’ve built it, we commission the system remotely and back it with a year of support, so you’re never left troubleshooting a live electrical system alone. The support doesn’t stop there though, as you’ll also gain lifetime access to our WhatsApp community, full of self-builders, professional converters and industry experts, for any and all questions about your off-grid project.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Complete Self-Build Package?
The Complete Self-Build Package is Tiny Build Electrics’ end-to-end service for customers building their own off-grid electrical system. It combines a power audit, system design, a bespoke wiring diagram, components, a build guide, system commissioning, and 12 months of support, all in one package rather than several separate services.
How is this different from buying a wiring diagram or system design separately?
We previously offered system design and wiring diagrams as two separate services. We’ve combined them, along with commissioning and support, into a single package built around how our self-build customers actually work: audit first, then components, then diagram, then commissioning once it’s built.
What happens during the power audit?
The power audit is a free, dedicated video call, used to establish your real world loads, how you’ll use the system, and what it needs to include. It forms the basis of your component quotation and wiring diagram, so the more detail you can bring, the more accurate your quote will be.
Do I have to buy my components through Tiny Build Electrics to get the wiring diagram?
Yes. The wiring diagram and build guide is released once you’ve purchased your components through us. The diagram, guide, commissioning and ongoing support isn’t itemised separately, it’s built into your component quote, so there’s no additional invoice for the diagram itself.
How much does the package cost?
£500, built into your component quote rather than billed as a separate fee. There’s no cost for the initial power audit and quotation.
Will my vehicle’s alternator work with the system you design?
In almost all cases, yes. Alternator charging is handled through an Orion DC-DC chargers, which we will programme to suit your vehicle’s alternator.
What if the details I give during the audit turn out to be wrong once I start building?
Your quotation and wiring diagram are based on the information you provide during the power audit, so it’s worth being as accurate as you can with your loads, van dimensions, and intended use. This doesn’t happen often, since the audit is designed to catch it upfront, but if something needs adjusting we can deal with it on a case by case basis. Any components you need to exchange or return are covered by our standard return policy, to ensure a stress-free build process.
What’s included in the build guide?
Our build guide draws on our existing guide library content, written by a qualified electrician and off-grid electrical engineer. It has been used by 100’s of past self-builders and pro converters, so you’re following instructions compiled by years of experience, that match what you’ve actually bought rather than a generic guide.
How long do I have to redeem my system commissioning?
Your commissioning is redeemable via voucher for 12 months from the date of purchase. After that, standard Remote Monitoring & Support pricing applies.
What happens after the 12 months of included support ends?
You keep lifetime access to our self-build WhatsApp community regardless, and we will always be available to help out over email or phone whenever we can. Ongoing VRM beyond the included 12 months is available through our Remote Monitoring & Support service.
Is the Complete Self-Build Package suitable if I’ve never done this before?
Yes. We love self builders, it’s who Tiny Build Electrics was built for and this service is designed for exactly them. Every stage, from audit to commissioning, is built around removing guesswork for people building their own system for the first time, though experienced self-builders benefit from it too.
Is the package compliant with UK electrical standards?
Yes. Every design and wiring diagram is developed with electrical safety and best practice as the priority, following relevant elements of BS7671 where applicable, and built exclusively around Victron Energy and other compliant components such as Fogstar and Blue Sea Systems.
Can I use this package alongside your installation or inspection services?
Yes. Most customers use the Complete Self-Build Package to design and source their system, then bring in a professional for parts of the install, or book a Periodic Inspection & Testing once it’s finished for extra peace of mind.
