Overview

About this product

This is the blue slotted panel trunking we build our own boards in. We run the wiring on our boards through it, between the Lynx, battery switch, solar charge controller, inverter/charger and consumer units, so the whole board stays tidy, protected and easy to trace. If you have seen our boards in our Instagram reels, this is the trunking in them.

Why we use it

  • Slotted on both sides. Cables drop in and leave at any point along the run, so each device gets a short, neat tail.
  • Snap-on lid. Closes the run for a clean finish and opens again when you add a circuit.
  • Self-extinguishing PVC. High-impact and warp-proof, rated UL94-0 by the manufacturer.
  • The same blue as ours. Build your own board and it will look like one of ours.

Choosing your size

Width Good for
50 × 35 mm Small 12 V boards and short branch runs
50 × 50 mm A typical campervan board, the all-rounder
50 × 80 mm Heavier battery and inverter cables, or busy main runs

All sizes are 50 mm deep and come in 1 m or 2 m lengths. Choose your length and size above.

Frequently asked questions

Which size of slotted trunking do I need?

Pick the width by how many cables share the run, and leave room to add more later. The 35 mm width suits a small 12 V board or a short branch run. The 50 mm width is a good all-rounder for a typical campervan board. The 80 mm width takes heavier battery and inverter cables, or a main run where several circuits come together. All three are 50 mm deep.

Is this the same trunking you use on your own installs?

Yes. It is the blue slotted trunking you see on our workshop boards and in our Instagram reels, and it is the trunking our "Like the blue panel trunking?" posts link to.

Does it come with a lid?

Yes. Every length comes with a snap-on lid, so you can open it again later to add or change a circuit.

Can I cut it to length?

Yes. The PVC cuts cleanly with a fine-tooth saw or a trunking cutter. Cut the base and the lid together so the ends line up, and take off any burrs before you lay cables in.

How is it delivered?

1 m lengths go as a standard tracked parcel. 2 m lengths need long-parcel handling, which is added once per order at checkout, however many 2 m lengths you buy. Your delivery cost is shown in full before you pay.
